Department Overview
This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations team (GTIO), where our mission is to deliver modern and relevant technology that supports the way McDonald’s works. We provide outstanding foundational technology products and services including Global Networking, Cloud, End User Computing, and IT Service Management. It’s our goal to always provide an engaging, relevant, and simple experience for our customers.
The GTIO Senior Manager is a key partner for the Technical Product Manager, End User Infrastructure & Operations. Develop connections with clients and partners to understand their needs, help in improving end user infrastructure, and promote continuous enhancement of End User Infrastructure & Operations services. This individual provides internal team governance to ensure team priorities align with the overall team strategy. This role will be instrumental in implementing the team vision of locally relevant and globally consistent end-user infrastructure platforms, services, and capabilities.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technology guide to contribute to crafting the evolution of infrastructure and operations offerings for the entire McDonald's ecosystem.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Build and participate in forums to ensure timely two-way communication between the End User Infrastructure & Operations (EUIO) team and markets, business units, and other multi-functional teams. Identify and address opportunities to improve communication.
- Develop deep understanding of all aspects of the EUIO platforms and capabilities offering, including global standards, prerequisites, and limitations for adoption.
- Maintain EUIO standards documentation and playbooks with input from EUIO team leaders; provide mentorship and assistance to markets as they adopt EUIO standards (services, platforms, other capabilities).
- Own and improve the EUIO team’s metric collection and releasement management processes.
- Own and lead the EUIO team's intake process for general EUIO inquiries and ad-hoc requests.
- Understand McDonald’s current support landscape of tools, processes, standards, automation, monitoring, hardware, and more.
- Continuously seek feedback and evaluate EUIO’s operational processes to uncover opportunities for the EUIO team to deliver faster, better, and more efficient solutions for our partners.
- Support the EUIO team in their Agile/Jira practices. Lead bi-weekly sprint sessions and sprint reviews.
- Support EUIO leadership in developing arguments for new initiatives, insourcing proposals, etc.
- Facilitate monthly EUIO all-hands meetings.
- Decompose sophisticated problems into approachable challenges. Consistently bring strong, data-driven business, and technical judgment to decisions.
Qualifications
- Grasp McDonald’s existing support environment encompassing tools, procedures, guidelines, automated systems, oversight, hardware, and additional elements.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, adept at articulating sophisticated ideas in simple, business-friendly language.
- Understand customer centricity, and lead products with that approach.
- Experience collaborating with collaborators across sophisticated global organizations.
- Impressive collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in teams that involve multiple functions.
- Solid understanding of software development, agile methodologies, and infrastructure platforms.
- Real-world experience building reasons, multi-year plans, and presentations for senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives from an unclear problem statement, driving clarity, understanding, and opportunity assessment, managing trade-offs and evaluating potential concepts with internal and external partners using design thinking and agile principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a dedication to producing high-quality work.
- Passion for emerging technology and real-world applications.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Jira.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven capacity to lead all aspects of and steer operations for achieving outcomes in a globally dispersed company.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and product road mapping tools.
- Experience building and managing infrastructure platforms that address global complexities, meet security standards, and support differences between markets/regions.
- Experience working in a leadership role in an agile product development environment: participating and leading agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking metrics of multiple teams, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.).
- Proficiency in coordinating customer expectations and resolving conflicts efficiently.
- Ability to conduct research into issues, solutions, products, and evaluate emerging technologies, translating them into roadmaps and leadership presentation materials.
- Ability to understand business challenges, drive process improvements, and translate into solutions.
- Diligent, with excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding relationship leadership skills and the ability to build and foster connections with individuals from a diverse group of backgrounds worldwide.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including the ability to influence multiple parties towards common goals.
- Highly collaborative along with independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and diligent, able to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to navigate uncertainty.
Experience
- 8+ years of relevant work experience and a bachelor’s degree or 6+ years relevant work experience and a Master’s degree.
- 1+ years of professional working with ITSM tool, ServiceNow preferred
- 2+ years of professional experience working with end user support tools
- 2+ years of experience in leadership roles, including leading teams of employees.
- Experience leading technical teams to deliver a strategically important product and/or a suite of products.

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $115,872.00 - $144,840.00 per year
